Updates and Details

As you already know, we are diligently working toward getting boats produced as soon as possible. Here are some updates and details.

Latest News

We are scheduled to start production by late October which means shipping should start in November. Our Kickstarter backers will receive the first boats followed by our pre-order customers. Of course, as we know more, we’ll pass that information along.

History of the Clamp

In the beginning…

Just to give you a little understanding into our processes, here is the prototype clamp that was used in the demo boats and in our Kickstarter video. Very large and cumbersome!

Now…

Below is a mockup of the clamp that’s currently being produced to our specs. The production clamp will have a longer angled thumb tab for better control. Much more streamlined than the original, or any of the ones in between!

And that’s the news, from Pakayak HQ. Until next time…be safe and healthy.

    Hello

Can you tell me how much is this ?
And how much the shipping cost to SAUDI ARABIA ?
Also how many time will take to reach SAUDI Arabia?

    • Zinelle Mackro says:

Hello Abdulmohsen, the pre-order special is $1695. We are not yet shipping to Saudi Arabia. If you would like, fill this form and we’ll tell you when we are. Thank you!

    ??
The handle lip of the new Clamp…Do you get Caught when new body or clothing near them? Then Possibly un-clips with movement?
You may need to curve the clip handle ends down slightly?

    Regards
    David

    • Zinelle Mackro says:

Hello David, the clamp locks into place. You need to push the locking lever back in order to unlatch. They will not unlatch if caught on clothing or other. We’ll create a new video to show this.

    Hi,
Just finished watching the video of the History of your clamp. It’s great that you keep your fans updated.
When the Pakayak is not assembled, does the “loose” latches bang against the inside of the Kayak surface or are they secured?
I’m a camper, when I fill the car up with equipment and a piece of equipment is rattling in the back while driving it can become very annoying. When packing the Pakayak into itself, is it possible that the loose latches could damage the outside surfaces of the kayak section being inserted or taken out?

Will you be coming up to or near Montreal, Quebec, Canada for a demonstration?

    You have a wonderful product!
    Thanks,

    • Zinelle Mackro says:

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your questions and enthusiasm! We designed the clamps to have a spring that keeps them in the open position so they do not flop or bounce around when unlatched. We can’t stand that, either. We have also designed the clamps and the shape so that the clamps do not rub on the hull when packed. We’ll be putting up some more detailed videos to show these and other features of the Bluefin 14. As for demos, we’ll be scheduling some soon. Please sign up for our emails and we’ll keep you posted. And, spread the word! The more people in your area that sign up for a demo, the more likely we’ll schedule a demo there. Thank you!

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am waiting for a tandem Pakayak from your company. When it will be ready for sale? I hold on buying a single seater for the add-on second seat portion may not fit the Blue Fin and need a bigger carrying bag. My alternative is a Point 65 mercury.

    Patrick

    • Zinelle Mackro says:

      Hi Patrick,
Thanks for your interest! We have plans to create the tandem section that WILL fit the current Bluefin model, converting the single seater to a tandem but we cannot tell you when that will be ready for sale. The tandem section would be carried separately and would not fit in the Bluefin bag.

I like the idea of portions kayak.
